This is actually a very late birthday present for my dear friend

I finished it with an abyssal delay, considering her bday was...in may ;__;

About the process of creation:

At first, I wanted to draw a grown up Syaoran topless, in a night view with the moon light right on him, half his body inside the water (he would be in a middle of a lake) and surrounded with some flowers that were floating on top of the water; and one of his hand would be grasping a flower.
But yeah, TOO DIFFICULT, ugh! ;__;

But still, my night view/half naked/water idea didn't want to get out of my brain; so I switched to Syaoran being a merman, wishing upon the moon: the face was good, the fish tail was good, but the torso was...urgh *no comment...*
And so, I came to the evidence that I really wasn't used to drawing naked bodies, and that I seriously had to train for it ;__;

At this point, I was going to give up and was considering to start thinking about something completely different, when I luckily remembered the ending sequence of the anime Umi Monogatari. And so, I decided to use it as reference for their poses ^^
I made them look somehow like a mix between chibis and young children...?
I found it very boring to follow the story of The Little Mermaid exactly though, so I inversed the roles: Syaoran being the merman prince going to the rescue of the drowning human princess ^^ (YES, I WANTED my Syaoran MERMAN no matter what it took or what reason I had to come up with >//<)

I made it into the deep sea, which is why even though you can see some light, you still can't see the surface, and also I worked to give it a 'fairytale look' and magical feel to it~
